Ethiopian middle and long-distance runner Genzebe Dibaba Keneni is confident her country will prevail over their closest arch-rivals Kenya during the 42nd edition of the IAAF World Cross Country Championship at Kololo Independence Ground on Sunday.

Speaking to the media after leading her teammates in a run around the course on Friday, Dibaba said her side was confident of a good outing.

"We trained well at home and the weather here is similar to that at home so we are confident and ready to put up our best show. The Kenyan team is strong but we are ready to battle with them all the way," Dibaba said.

She also praised the course.

"The course is very nice, I have never seen one like this. The Local Organising Committee have done a wonderful job and prepared it well, so we hope to post some good times here."

The current rains have made conditions very favourable to the runners and Dibaba and co who came expecting very humid conditions cannot wait for Sunday.
