It’s been challenging for investors to get real time information

Uganda Securities Exchange (USE) has introduced a web portal where shareholders in specific companies will be in position to monitor their accounts, bank statements, stock market among others online at any time.

Previously investors in the stock market have been getting all the information through brokers; which has been causing many delays.

USE board chairman Charles Mbiire said this will enable investors monitor all the transactions conducted on their accounts at any time of their convenience.

"Investors no longer have to queue at the brokers to submit their IPO applications. They can simply send these from the comfort of their homes, offices or anywhere in the world" Mbiire said.

USE executive director, Paul Bwiso, said that they are targeting an increase in the number of investors to 200,000 by the end of the year.

"It's been challenging for investors to get real time information on their stocks when they invest. This system send you instant notifications, both email and SMS" Bwiso said.
