Sadolin Paints FC 0  Onduparaka FC 1

Gadhafi Gadinho scored the winner as on-form Onduparaka FC moved into third place of the Azam Premier League table with a win over Sadolin Paints FC at Bugembe Stadium.

It was both sides' last game of the first round of the season as Uganda's top-flight football readies to flip the page for another half.

Following Saturday's six games, including URA FC's win over defending champions KCCA FC, it means all teams have played 15 games so far.

And for Arua-based Onduparaka, who have enjoyed a fairy-tale-of-sorts start to their first ever premier league appearance, concluding the first round with a victory on the road will have inspired more confidence within the camp.

They started equally as strong as hosts Sadolin on Saturday, with both sides knocking the ball around with intent and will.

Onduparaka could have trailed had Norman Ogik been sharper in the final third early in the opening half. But that was swiftly set aside as, ten minutes into the game, Gadhafi converted brilliantly from a free-kick to give the visitors the lead.

Sadolin attacker Fred Kyambadde, who has been a vital addition to the Jinja-based outfit, nearly headed home the leveler a few minutes later from a Ronald Lukungu cross, but the woodwork stood in his way.

Ogik also came close to equalizing before the break.

It was a two-way counter-attacking affair after the restart, with the hosts keen on leveling matters while Onduparaka searching long and hard for a second-goal cushion.

Despite the attacking display, Gadhafi's first-half goal remained the only statistic on the scoresheet as Onduparaka secured three vital away points while Sadolin remained fixed in 10th place on 17 points.

In Saturday's other games, holders KCCA were beaten 1-0 by 6th-placed URA as Bright Stars FC enjoyed a 3-0 victory over Police FC.

SC Villa easily beat Jinja SSS 2-0 while Lweza and BUL FC's game ended goalless.  Proline FC and The Saints FC shared the spoils in a four-goal thriller in the other draw of the day.
