Ugandan comedians nominated in "world's Funniest Person Competition"

Local comedians Patrick Idringi a.ka Salvador and Kenneth Kimuli  a.ka. Pablo have been nominated in the world's funniest person competition. Salvador and Pablo are among the 88 comics from 56 countries across the globe for the coveted title.

According to laughfactory.com, the $100,000 (about 330m) grand prize awaits for the winner. The champion will also become a comedy peace world ambassador

The competition is an initiative by Laugh Factory to promote world peace through smiles and laughter.

Salvador confirmed the news saying: "My God, this love you have shown is amazing. We are in top 20 in just a day. Voting closes October 2, I am just humbled by the love. We got this," wrote Salvador.

Pablo also confirmed the development: "Greetings my friends. I am glad to inform you that I have been entered for an international comedy competition for the funniest comedian in the world."

Voting has already started, the number of shares, likes, comments, downloads and views will determine who qualifies to the next round.

Voting is online and all fans have to do is visit the website www.laughfactory.com and like, comment or share the comedian's video on the site.

The competition will culminate to a grand finale, which will take place in Helsinki, Finland from December 4 to 10.
