The event also helped the rally drivers to spot mechanical issues
Desh Rally team driver Ambrose Byona has said he is ready for the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally due next month in Luweero and Mubende districts.
Byona said this after a drivers' training day in preparation of the Pearl of Africa Rally held at Busiika in Luweero on Sunday.
"I'm now ready for the show. My car is okay and am also fit enough," Byona stated.
The event also helped the rally drivers to spot mechanical issues on their cars before the rally.
Desh Kananura and Hassan Alwi were some of the casualties whose cars got mechanical problems at the training.
The Shell Helix sponsored team of Arthur Blick and Unisan Bakunda in a Subaru N10 also realised that their car needed some more power to be able to compete with the Mitsubishi Evo 10s that most top drivers are driving.
"Our car is okay but we need to boost its power a bit, but we are ready" Blick's co-driver Bakunda stated.
The event organised by Desh Rally Team (DRT) climaxed with a get together party for fans, sponsors and drivers at the same venue.
“We wanted to test our cars, fine tune them and also interact with our fans and sponsors outside the stressful competitions," Byona stated.
