After the Rugby Cranes 48-10 humiliating defeat at home to Kenya in the first leg of the Elgon Cup, rugby experts have cited key areas that let down the team.

Coaches Helen Buteme, former Rugby Cranes coach, Sam Ahamya and arguably the country's most experienced coach Yayiro Kasasa, singled out poor preparation, lack of strength and conditioning of players and player substitution errors.

"The starting team was so defensive and lacked creativity. They never went out of the gate," Kasasa stated.

The rugby experts also added that the technical team of Robert Sseguya, Anthony Kinene and Emma Baine failed to think out of the box.

Ahamya noted that the Rugby Cranes applied more of the double tackle approach which was not work.

The experts further explained that the fly half was under pressure and could not play a running game, a thing which affected the team most.

They also advised the rugby governing body, URU to have players conditioning programme at club level so that when team is called, the coaches don't focus on strength and conditioning but game plans and structures only.
