He promised to move a motion in Parliament
Gerald Karuhanga the Ntungamo Municipality Member of Parliament has hailed the UK non-Governmental Organization, LTHT (Let Them Help Themselves), that has started a project of making Sanitary Pads for girl children and women.
Speaking at the launching of the LTHT project for menstrual hygiene, Karuhanga said he lobbied for the program after meeting the stakeholders in Kampala at his office and discovered that the locally made sanitary pads can be useful and are cheaper.
The launch was held at Jerusalem Trees Cottages in Ntungamo Municipality on Saturday where Karuhanga was the guest of honour.
He promised to move a motion in Parliament to let the government allow such investors to open up industries in all districts so that it helps the girls and women to secure cheap sanitary pads, and this will also help them save money.
