The position of the deputy speaker was left vacant

The Lamogi Sub County LC5 Councilor in Amuru district Denis Rom (FDC) has been elected as district speaker, John Bosco Ocan (FDC) vice chairperson as well as secretary administration, finance and investment and Martin Akera (NRM) for community services development.

Others approved by the first council meeting as secretaries include; Apio Catherine Oywa for secretary production and marketing, Apollo Kaggwa for secretary health and education while the district chairman will also double as the secretary works and technical services.

The position of the deputy speaker was left vacant after three female councilors that include Naku Jane, Alice Ekanya Akello and Lucy Adong turned down the nominations.

Councilors opted to have the office filled in the second council meeting after being sensitized on the roles and responsibilities attached to it.

Similarly, the clerk to council advised that council committees be appointed in the next meeting after councilors consulting their electorates on committees they should join.
