Martha Soigi, the captain of former champions NIC, is convinced that the team will reclaim the National Netball League title this season.

The 16-time champions are training at Nakivubo in preparation for the league opener against UPDF at Namboole on Saturday.

But Uganda Netball Federation official Ruth Rwakabale said it is still not clear when the league will start.

The opening day’s programme has been put off before in the past for various reasons.

The last postponement was caused by the team manager’s failure to agree on a plan to split the league into two divisions.

“We had already made a decision to split the league and the fixtures had also been distributed but some team managers seem not contented with the arrangement,” Rwakabale said.

She hastened to add, “We have been forced to call another meeting to resolve various issues.”
