She has vowed to fight for artistes in this country

Artistes in Uganda have had their work plagiarized over and over without any help.

Some claim that that's the only way their music gets known which is really a backward way of thinking.

Judith Babirye, the new woman Member of Parliament for Buikwe District has vowed to fight for artistes in this country.

The singer who turned up late for swearing in on Monday was asked why she came late and she had this to say;

"I had to look for my people in different areas. My district has three constituencies and I wanted to be with all my people. I am happy that finally I have reached this milestone."

Asked how she will balance music and Parliament, the singer said;

"I will continue singing songs that inspire and uplift Ugandans. I will use my time at Parliament to speak out for Ugandans. But when I am in my free time I will be working on this great music. If I fail to get the time I will teach young artistes to sing the music using the gift that God has given me"
