Bugweri County Member of Parliament Abdul Katuntu has announced that this will be his last term as a legislator.

After swearing in, Katuntu said that the people of Bugweri have given him twenty years of service and after this term he will sit with the people of Bugweri and choose someone else to represent them.

Katuntu said that in his last term he wants to see constitutional reforms for the 2021 general elections.

“I think we need to do reforms especially in the Electoral Commission to make sure that people have got faith in the institution that’s going to organize the next elections” he said.

Katuntu also condemned government's decision to arrest former FDC leader Kiiza Besigye saying that a political question cannot be solved by arresting people.
