The mere thought of playing a North African team makes many Ugandans shudder.

But that is not the case for right winger Godfrey Lwesibawa.

Lwesibawa is eagerly looking foward to Friday's CAF Confederation Cup match against Morocco's FUS Rabat.

"To me this is a golden chance. I am determined to put up my best show ever. It is in such big games that opportunities come," he stated.

Lwesibawa, who has two goals and one assist in the two previous rounds, is eyeing a career in the more lucrative leagues.

"My prayer is that the entire team does well and we progress. The group stage provides a superb marketing platform."

Ugandan teams have, to the contrary over the past two decades, been punching bags for North African sides.

In Fath Union Sport de Rabat, the Jogoos will be up against another Arab heavyweight. The Moroccan won the CAF Confederation Cup title in 2010.

Villa leaves this afternoon with a contingent of 18 players and four officials. They will travel via Abu Dhabi to the Moroccan coastal town of Casablanca.

They will then make an 87 kilometre trip by road to Rabat.

The Jogoos travel to Morocco in high morale after having their financial troubles sorted with a sh400m offer from President Yoweri Museveni.

Villa eliminated Zanzibar's Jeshi La Kujenga Uchumi (JKU SC) 5-0 on aggregate to qualify to the second round while FUS Rabat ejected UMS de Loum from Cameroon 3-2. If Villa goes past this stage, they will play one of the losers in the 2016 CAF Champions League second round in the play-off round ahead of the group stages.
