State House is liaising with Dhaira's family to have his body returned home for burial

A few hours to Uganda Crane's match with Burkina Faso at Namboole stadium, parliament observed a solemn moment in honor of fallen Cranes goalkeeper Abel Dhaira.

Dhaira, who had stints at KCC and Express FC before finding greener pastures as a professional in Iceland succumbed to abdominal cancer on Easter Sunday. Dhaira passed away in Iceland.

"Dhaira, a talented goal keeper brought this country many beautiful memories.  This House mourns his passing and we pray that his family finds fortitude in this trying time," Deputy Speaker, Jacob Oulanya said before the House observed a minute of silence in his honor.

State House comptroller, Lucy Nakyobe has confirmed that State House is liaising with Dhaira's family to have his body returned home for burial.
