Green hill Academy's Tinisha Birungi and Emma Kiwanuka were in top form over the weekend to help their side win the Uganda Swimming Federation National Secondary Swimming Championships held at Greenhill pool.
Birungi collected 6 gold and 1 silver setting the pace for the champions when she clocked 3:48.39 to win gold in the 200m Individual Medley opening race before taking gold in the 50m butterfly (32.35)and 100m breaststroke (1:48.90) events.
She also claimed gold in the 50m breast and silver in the 50m freestyle race, where she was beaten by team mate Lannah Basisana in a time of 39.62 in the girls 12-13 years category.

Kiwanuka was also in top form in the boys' 15 and over coming first in the 200m IM, 50m fly, back, free and 100m freestyle and butterfly events to help their school win by 1,220 points.
Both swimmers were also part of the relay teams that dominated races in the 200m Medley Relay and freestyle events.

Runners up Seeta were inspired by Mariam Tendo, 15, who won 7 gold medals in different races alongside Sheenah Nabwiire, Percy Nandawula, Jefferson Kaweesa, Jeremiah Katende and James Ibanda who collected a couple of silver and gold medals.
Uganda Martyr's Namugongo who came third had Ahumuza Ariiyo, Manuela Atukunda, Deogracious Elisha, Bruno Mutegyei and Marvin Kaberuka as some of their best swimmers.
