Nakamoga wins Captain's Prize golf tournament

Overall winner ladies: Bridget Nakamoga 67nett

Overall winner men: Horris Bashaija 67nett

Mary Ocheng will captain the ladies section for the next one year after replacing Katy Kabenge at the weekend.

Ocheng will be assisted by Rosette Tugume while Gloria Mbaguta and Juilet Ndolvu is secretary and treasurer respectively.

In the term-ending Captain Prize tournament that ushered in the new team, Bridget Nakamoga returned 67nett to beat a strong field of over 50 ladies in the one-day tournament played at Kitante.

Horris Bashaija, with a similar score, took the men's overall prize in the South African Airways and Mogas-sponsored event which attracted over 200 golfers.

Esther Okullo emerged top in the ladies Group A, beating Jenina Nasimolo and Monica Ntege by 7 and 8 strokes respectively while Sheila Kesiime and Carol Namutebi were the best in groups B and C respectively.

John Basabose, Wu Kun, Julius Musimenta and J.D Jang were the top performers in the men Groups A-D.

Earlier, Deo Akope had claimed the biggest share of sh5m in the professional's category that had professional debutants Lawrence Muhenda, Happy Robert and Gerald Kabuye earning their first pay cheques.
