Vendors woke up Friday morning to streets filled with Police, UPDF and KCCA enforcement officers guarding and patrolling the streets where the vendors  have been transacting business for the last three months.

This follows a meeting held on Wednesday in which the city authorities (KCCA) and Kampala City Traders Association (KACITA) agreed on a joint operation to evict vendors from the streets to allow shop owners run their businesses without interruptions.

KCCA executive director, Jennifer Musisi wrote to the Police requesting for security during an exercise dubbed ‘restoration of trade order and sanity’.
