Kadongokamu singer Nabiryo's burial for Friday

Nabiryo, a former resident of Buziga will be laid to rest at her family ancestral grounds on Friday at 2pm

After battling with cancer for months, kadongokamu singer Imaculate Nabiryo breathed her last in the wee hours of Thursday morning at Mulago Hospital's cancer institute where she was hospitalized for months.

Nabiryo is the sister of kadongokamu legend, the Herman Basudde who was killed in a motor accident along Masaka highway in 1997.

She was a member of Lubaga South MP-elect Kato Lubwama's Diamond Productions and the duo released a single together in early 2000s titled 'Ebiiso' which became an instant hit.

The social media especially Facebook was filled with condolence messages from family, friends and well-wishers. 

Nabiryo, a former resident of Buziga will be laid to rest at her family ancestral grounds on Friday at 2pm at Bubondo-Butenga in Bukomansimbi where Basudde was also buried.

Born to Erias Katende Kizza and Dimetria Namyaalo of Bubondo, Bukomansimbi, Nabiryo went to Sserinya Primary School in Bukomansimbi before joining Kabale Sanje SS for higher education in Rakai District.

Nabiryo started singing in Lukwata Guitar Singers 1989, then Kabulada Professional Singers owned by Basudde. She was based in London between 1995 to 1998.

She then rejoined Kabulada for a year and left to join Diamond Productions till her death. She lived a single life and has left no child.
