In the reverse fixture, Hope Doves won 1-0 at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku.
Wandegeya FC are back in action today (Thursday) against Hope Doves FC in the FUFA Big League.
They have had trial games in their pre-second round preparation and lost 2-1 in a recent friendly against Kilokole FC.
Wandegeya sit in eighth place, eight points behind leaders Proline FC.
In the reverse fixture, Hope Doves won 1-0 at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku and this time, Wandegeya will be hoping to overturn that result at Kanyanya ground.
They have been boosted with the signing of new players: defender Fred Segendo, midfielder Dan Wuzailu and striker Denis Kamada.
Team captain Kayira Joseph says the new players will lift their chances in the second round of Uganda's second-tier football.
"We have to top the group or maintain the top three places to be able to play the playoffs," he says.
Meanwhile, Meddie Kaketo is a doubt after picking up a knee injury during training on Monday.
Wandegeya head coach Semwanga Swaibu says most of his players are fit and is confident of victory.
"We have to treat each game as a final and as our last game if we are to get into the playoffs position."
