Educationist Edward Kasisiri passes on

Kasisiri collapsed on 5th January and was rushed to Case Clinic where the doctors diagnosed that he had suffered a brain hemorrhage

The Director of Kampala Quality Primary School in Kikaya, Kampala, Edward Kasisiri died at Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad, India.

His wife Jennifer Kasisiri who is also the co-director of the school told New Vision that her husband suffered cardiac arrest in theater where he was being operated on and died instantly.

She said Kasisiri collapsed on 5th January and was rushed to Case Clinic where the doctors diagnosed that he had suffered a brain hemorrhage.

He spent two days in Case and was transferred to Nakasero Hospital for further treatment when his condition deteriorated. At Nakasero, the doctors recommended him to India for a brain operation. Kasisiri was then flown to India on Wednesday this week for the operation.

However, while in the theater, he suffered cardiac arrest and died at around 2pm Indian time, on Friday. Jennifer said her husband at the time of his death, had high blood pressure and it is what led to the collapse.

Kasisiri and his wife, both professional teachers, started Kampala Quality Primary School in 1999 as a mixed day private school with both nursery and primary sections. Before that Kasisiri taught in many schools including Buganda Road Primary School.

The school has grown to be one of the most sought after primary schools in the country.

At the time of his death he was 47 years old. He is survived by four children. His body according to his wife, will be flown back into the country on either Monday or Tuesday
