THE High Court has denied former Uganda Cranes and SC Villa manager and sodomy convict Chris Mubiru bail.

Justice Rugadya Atwooki dismissed Mubiru’s application on grounds that his true particulars are unknown to court since he presented various confusing documents which included his passport that described him as a banker while other documents described him as businessman dealing in real estate and former football coach.

Atwooki also based his decision on what he termed as unsubstantial sureties Mubiru presented to court who failed to explain the extent of their friendship to him.

Mubiru had applied for bail pending hearing and determination of his appeal in the High Court  but Atwooki ordered that he be returned to jail till when his appeal will come up for hearing.

Mubiru was sentenced to 10 years in jail for having carnal knowledge with a 17-year-old boy.
