It was a spectacle to behold as former vice president and NRM prodigal son Gilbert Balibaseka Bukenya threw open invites to hundreds of his supporters to indulge in merry making at his Katoomi Kingdom hotel.

Hundreds of supporters endured a chilly Friday morning, standing in long queues as free food and porridge was served.

They were ferried in buses and lorries; their destination the leafy gate-away Katomi resort, tucked in the serene environs of Garuga, Wakiso district, normally a preferred destination for the moneyed, corporates and love birds.

The vast hotel compound is reportedly filled up with curious supporters rest assured of full board facilities including food and drinks.

This is meant to be the grand return-to- NRM party after Prof. Bukenya hastily and surprisingly deserted the short-lived opposition political alliance codenamed TDA.

Bukenya's fans fight for a bucket of porridge at Katomi kingdom resort.

Last Wednesday, Bukenya revealed that he would ferry all his supporters in Baganda region and make them swear allegiance before president Museveni who is expected to arrive at Katoomi as chief guest.

Although the premises are already filled up, people are still being checked into the hotel to attend the ceremony.
