The surprise name is MC Norman (Real name Norman Ganja) who is set the square up with fellow Ugandan Jose Chameleone for the Best African Dancehall Artist .Well; it should not be surprise that Mc Norman.
MC Norman is the son of Afrigo band’s Eddy Ganja, one of the finest guitarists that Uganda has ever produced.
MC Norman is following in the footsteps of his father. But not as a dancehall reggae artiste. And, if we are to go by the noise emanating from South Africa, he seems to be filling the void  which was created when Lucky Dube died.
Dube, it seems took with him not only his rare legacy, but reggae as a whole. Few musicians dare do reggae songs in South Africa although it is still a relevant genre.

MC Norman  has been has been stirring things his 11 track ‘Lover’s Rock’ which is steeped in  deep reggae roots yet  tweaked to meet current musical trends.
Although Uganda seems to be well presented,  Nigeria, who music has been sweeping the continent like a wildfire in recent years, is the most represented nation in all the music categories.

” AFRIMMA is a highly anticipated award show celebrating the beauty of African music and artistry. This event will not only celebrate the music of Africa, but celebrates the unique sounds, culture and artists that tell the stories of our continent as a whole” said Anderson Obiagwu, Founder of Afrimma.
“AFRIMMA represents growth, celebration and pushing the culture and music of Africa continuously forward for the better. It will be an amazing night celebrating the artist who have influenced and impacted the culture as well as the pioneers who laid the framework for the music of today.”
