Mobilized by Jenkins Mukasa, the musicians who travel in a bus together as a group moved the crowds at the three venues with high sound music by Steve Jean of the Fenon Entertainment.

The shows, free to the public are sponsored by Twaweza Foundation, the Swahiri word ‘we can make it happen’. It is driving a community campaign with a slogan, ‘Ni Sisi’, which means ‘change is me. You. Us’.

The campaign promotes the idea that citizens can bring about change themselves, rather than waiting for the government, politicians, donors or nongovernmental organizations to do it for them.

At the shows, the artists pose to relay a message to the audience, reminding them of their duties and obligations to speak out, act and help each other over issues that concern them other than waiting for others to come and do everything for them.

Jenkins says the artists were selected because have music that is inspiring tomainly the young generation who can learn a lot from them and make a positive contribution to their respective communities.

Local talents were also allowed to perform before the big artistes came on stage.
