The search for 2015/16 Miss Uganda beauty queen is heating up after 21 girls were unveiled to the public by Miss Uganda Foundation, Thursday night, at Kampala Serena Hotel.

The night, a bit glamorous, attracted several glamour girls, former beauty queens, show business people, entertainers and models to this event that concluded the regional searches last week.

Hosted by former Miss Uganda contestant, Jaylor Birungi, and comedian Ronnie MacVex, the Mirinda-sponsored night started off with outgoing Miss Uganda, Leah Kalanguka leading a session of last year's Miss Uganda regional winners on the runway.

That was before the 21 finalists strutted the runway to show what they have.

Among the finalists, attention was drawn on Aisha Nabukeera, 20, the girl with a scarred skin.

She is known around as the girl that was burnt by her step mother in 2006 and got shoved into the limelight when city businessman, Frank Gashumba sought public intervention to secure her skin operation.

Seeing her on the runway was like a surprise birthday gift to the audience, as they did not know whether to clap joyfully or just sit there and watch in amazement.

She oozed confidence though, and off she left the stage for the other contestants.

One of the pageant's sponsors, Samona Beauty products vowed on the night to sponsor her for a year with beauty products.

There were musical performances from Irene Ntale, Jasmine and Apass and speeches from the event's sponsors and Miss Uganda franchise holder, Brenda Nanyonjo.

The girls will go in boot camp for some activation nights en route the grand finale on July 10.
