In stark contrast to the ever changing face of Kampala city, dotted with high-rise buildings of modern architecture is a face that tells another story.

Our photographer took a small tour of some of Kampala's suburbs of Namuwongo, Nakulabye and Bwaise to bring you that side of the story.

A slum located in Namuwongo

A storied building in the background of a slum

Another slum with a posh building in the background

These houses in Nakulabye go for sh12,000 a month

These are some of the girls we find in popular city hangouts
