KAMPALA - Celebrated Ugandan musician Jose Chameleone took his fans down memory lane at the One Million Experience concert Thursday night at Kampala Serena Hotel.

There was no wasting much time for curtain raisers or people filling up Serena to the rafters for him to start off the show as is the norm with most musical events. As soon as chief guest, First Lady of Uganda Janet Museveni had taken her seat, the show started off.

Chameleone started off with Wale Wale on a live band before delving into his old time hits like Maama Mia, Dorotia, Nekolela Maali, Kuma Obwesigwa, and recent ones like Tubonge, Valu Valu, Vumilia, Bombooclat and Tubonge.

It was a one-man show as he had said prior to the event and he did not really disappoint in his performance that was aimed at constructing boreholes in the Karamoja region.

Mrs Museveni thanked the singer for using his talents to reach out the Karimojong and urged other musicians to follow suit.

"This is to be a beautiful Christmas gift for me to see today's young people learning to have a spirit of giving. I congratulate young people for choosing to be with Chameleone tonight and I urge other artistes not to only work for themselves but use their talents to serve other people.

"This is a good example to the young children as well. Young children learn a lot from seeing what we do. So, I salute Chameleone tonight and I congratulate all of you because this is to be a beautiful Christmas for me," she said, before leaving halfway into the show.

Several high profile people turned up for the show and as time went on, crowds had swollen up to acceptable numbers.

Chameleone continued with the show until 11:30pm local time.
