The clan leader, only identified as Galiko, argued that dog meat is a taboo in the clan because a dog is a descendant of a fox.

A witness told the meeting that for two days, the men would go to a nearby bush to roast the ‘delicacy’. He also said they would take salt and pepper with them. The men were then banished from the clan.

They were, however, allowed to pack their belongings first. Since then, they have not been seen in the area.
