After defeating Jackie Nasimbwa to the national kick boxing championship, Patricia Apolot now has her eyes set on the Arican title.

Apolot disclosed this in an interview after defeating Jackie Nasimbwa in the five round national championship title on Friday Night July 25, 2014 at MTN Arena Lugogo National Council of Sports.

“Retaining the national championship belt means that there is no challenger in the country anymore. I now want to go for the Africa title,” Apolot said in an interview on Friday at the MTN Arena Lugogo National Council of Sports .

Apolot now boosts of a record 26 wins and one loss, compared to Nansimbwa who has 9 wins, with two defeats.

“This just a step among many that I have and am going to boost my training as I wait for the next fight,” Apolot stated.

Apolot gets Wavamuno Sponsorship:

Because of her discipline and determination to go higher, businessman Gordon Wavamuno will foot all her training expenses for both national and international fights.

Wavamuno made his pledge after Apolot defeated Jackie Nasimbwa to retain the 60kg national kick-boxing title. He also also pledged sh5m.

“I am impressed with this young girl’s determination and discipline. I’m giving her sh5m and will also pay for all her training expenses,” Wavamuno stated.

Nansimbwa protest defeat:
 
Despite several knockdowns, Jackie Nansimbwa protested the defeat saying that she was cheated by the referee who stopped the fight on technical grounds.

She claimed to have scored enough points to win her the belt but that the referees were biased.
