THE National Resistance Movement (NRM) party aspirants in the coming primary elections should stop using bad language, intended to divide party members, the transport minister, John Nasasira, has said.

He said this while addressing people during the NRM celebrations at Kiruhura town council headquarters. The headquarters were officially opened on the same day.

Nasasira said NRM is 24 years old and has strong roots, which the candidates should aim at making stronger.

Nasasira explained that the NRM primary elections were like playing soccer where if a player breaks the leg of a fellow player, it would weaken the team.

He said the elections were an in-house exercise that had to be handled as a family, as they wait for a real political war in the general elections next year.

Nasasira advised them to start mobilising party members to register in preparation for the elections.

He honoured Col. Fred Mwesigye, one of the 27 freedom fighters.

Nasasira also called for a moment of silence to remember the freedom fighters who lost their lives during and after the bush war.

He said NRM has fought many wars and the remaining war was the one on poverty, which he asked all Ugandans to join.

Nasasira assured the people of Kiruhura that before the end of the year they would get electricity and tarmacked roads.

He commended the district for its good performance in last years’s Primary Leaving Examinations.

Kiruhura was ranked the 20th out of 91 districts and municipalities in the country. It was also the 10th out of 91 districts to get best second grades.
