SINGER Hanson Baliruno launched his maiden album, Kansolingi, at Garden City’s Rooftop on Good Friday. The concert started on a low key, due to a faulty CD player, which made it impossible for some artistes to perform.

The situation was nonetheless saved by Triumph Gospel Ensemble, which provided live music. Baliruno’s concert gained momentum, with a performance from Judith Babirye, who enchanted the audience with her popular songs- Beera Nange and Lwaki Wanjagala.

Baliruno then ascended onto the stage in style, surrounded by members of his musical group. His appearance provoked thunderous applauses from his fans.

He sang all the songs on his new album, which included Kansolingi, Sitaani awuluguma, Nnina Ennyonta and I Need You. Bishop Godfrey Mawa of Commission International donated sh1m and later presided over a mini-fundraising function.

Gospel artistes Florence Rukundo, Pamela Ssennyonga, Dennis Lanek and Miriam Mugabi also performed.
