Mangat stats eighth in Kenya rally

UGANDAN Jas Mangat partnered by Leone Ssenyange in Subaru Impreza will start off in eighth position in the KCB Visa Card Banking rally that starts in Kisumu Kenya on Saturday.

Peter Horsey, who lives and works in Uganda, will be running under Kenyan license together with Ugandan Moses Matovu, who lives in Tanzania.

Much is expected of Kisumu as it returns to the KCB Kenya National Rally Championship status after an absence of four years.

After the start from the KCB branch in Kisumu at 7am tomorrow, cars will head for Awasi and Murohoni where the day’s main action will be centered.

The route, (400km) is divided into five competitive stages of which three will be done twice. For the benefit of the spectators, a special stage will be run on the outskirts of the service park on the Homa Lime premises. The longest section will be 34.70km.

The Kenyatta Sports Ground will host the finish. Thereafter, the cars will head for the Kisumu Yacht Club for the official prize-giving ceremony.
