ORIENT Bank has become the first bank to incorporate the URA e-tax payment system into its services. “This new payment mode which was unveiled by URA early this year, is easy, instant secure and hassle free way to pay domestic taxes,” Orient said in a statement.

“URA customers paying VAT, PAYE, Local Excise Duty, Gaming and Pool Betting can pay at any of our branches countrywide.”

To access these services a customer will be required to log onto www.ura.go.ug and choose a preferred mode of payment that is cash, cheque or funds transfer and choose to pay through Orient Bank.

“They will be issued with a payment registration number which they will quote when they go to any of our branches to effect payment.”

The service is open to all taxpayers irrespective of whether they have accounts with the bank or not.
