KHAM Kakama, the baby who was kidnapped from Bugolobi, Kampala and killed was on Thursday buried at his home in Kagunga, Nyakagyeme, Rukungiri.

The retired Bishop of North Kigezi, Rt. Rev. John Wilson Kahigwa led the mass and condemned the killing of the innocent baby and urged Kakama’s parents to have faith in God.

Abas Byakagaba, who represented the Police chief, Kale Kayihura said: “We shall ensure that all those implicated in the murder are punished.”

He said a doctor’s report indicated that Kakama was killed about a week ago and ruled out allegations that some body parts were missing.

“The cause of the death has not yet been established, but primary investigations suspect he was suffocated to death,” he said.

Rujumbura MP Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi said he would lobby Parliament to have a law to punish people who commit such crimes.

Kakama’s father, Sven Karekaho, said he had forgiven all those who killed his son. “We have agreed as family to forgive whoever was behind the killing, we know the blood of the innocent baby will haunt them to the end,” he said.

His wife, Naome Karekaho reiterated her earlier message that she wanted the Police to let her talk to those who killed her son. “I will be happy if I can ask them how and why they killed my son,” she said.

Kham Karekaho the grand father of the deceased and also former state minister for agriculture during Obote II said two months ago, they were in the same place, celebrating the baptism of Kakama, but it was sad that they were now burying him.
