Wanjusi Wasieba loses Bubulo MRM poll

FORMER Bududa resident district commissioner Wanzusi Wasieba has lost the NRM party primaries for Bubulo West in Manafwa district to Tonny Kipoi. Kipoi polled 16,727 votes to beat nine other contenders.

FORMER Bududa resident district commissioner Wanzusi Wasieba has lost the NRM party primaries for Bubulo West in Manafwa district to Tonny Kipoi.

Kipoi polled 16,727 votes to beat nine other contenders.

The incumbent MP, Fred Bukeni, closely followed with 13,413 votes, while Wasieba came third with 12,226 votes.

The incumbent Manafwa Woman MP, Sarah Netasila, won the women’s seat with 74,988 votes, beating Rose Mutonyi, Uganda’s envoy to Tanzania, and three others.

Peke Walimbwa won the district chairperson’s race, beating Stephen Mweru with 84,892 votes against 49,400 votes.

Meanwhile, George William Wopuwa, the incumbent MP for Bubulo East, also lost to Simon Mulongo in a race of five contestants. Mulongo polled 38,474 votes, while Wopuwa got 28,995 votes.

In Budiope West, John Bosco Mubiito beat six others to grab the MP seat with16,868 votes.

In Budiope East, the incumbent Sulaiman Kirunda Balyejusa got 23,299 votes, beating John Nsega, a radio news anchor, who bagged 7,397.
