Monkeys welcome you to the Wildlife Education Centre at Entebbe before you enter the premises. There is a canteen where you can buy snacks like cakes, doughnuts and crisps.
You can also buy the children soft drinks like soda and juice. If you want to spend the whole day with the family at the centre this Easter, you could buy lunch there for about sh2,500.
Enjoy a good walk at the centre with the children. They will surely have fun. Do not forget to wear good walking shoes. There is a fishpond, where you can watch the fish swim.
The Wildlife Centre is an educational trip for the children. Give them a chance to explore and observe the lion, white rhino and ostrich in their natural habitant. There is a lot to see and plenty to learn.
If your children love being outdoors, then Speke Resort, Munyonyo is the place for them to be. There is horse riding, swimming and plenty of space to run and play.
Since Munyonyo is located along the shores of Lake Victoria, let the children enjoy the breeze from the fresh water lake while they play. Swimming in the Olympic size pool at Munyonyo costs sh10,000.
You can go as a family to Kiwatule Recreation Centre. There the entry fee is sh1,000 for children and sh2,000 for adults over the festive season.
There is plenty of outdoor entertainment, with a children’s swimming pool and another for adults. Enjoy the greenery while you sit under the grass-thatched sheds, where you can sip the drink of your choice and enjoy a snack. It costs about sh40,000 for a couple with two kids to have a comfortable day out there, which should cover meals, swimming and train rides. Children five years and above can go for the train rides without an adult. The train ride is one of those things children look forward to at Kiwatule.
Have a family outing and give your children precious memories. Enjoy these moments, because this is also a time to bond with the children and observe their development.
Other places to be during this Easter season could include; restaurants like Haandi’s, Sam’s and Mateos. A meal for four at Sam’s Restaurant on Kampala Road will cost about sh50,000, including drinks. Prices vary according to the foods ordered. Drinks range from sodas to wines.
Eat Ugandan, Chinese, Italian or Indian. Take the family out and enjoy a hearty meal as you celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. Shanghai at Kampala Club specialises in Chinese. Ekitobeero on Yusuf Lule Road specialises in Ugandan cuisine.
Didi’s World, Kansanga, has slides, merry-go rounds, swings and many other rides for the children. Let the children enjoy the Disney World of Uganda.
These family entertainment spots require you to pay extra for activities like horse and donkey rides. Spare cash, aside from that for snacks and drinks, so the children can have fun.
Adrift is organising a family float trip, which will last 21hrs 30min, from Jinja Nile Resort to Bujagali. The sales person at Adrift revealed that the trip is open to persons from age two years to 72. The cost for adults is $40 and $25 for children.
This Easter season’s promotional fee for two adults and two children costs $110. This promotional fee allows the family free use of the Jinja Nile resort pool. Dress code for children and adults is a hat, T-shirt and shorts. Make a booking for the family float trip at Adrift, located on Kintu Road, as soon as possible. You could also go for bunjee jumping. Brave children aged 10 years and above could also go for it, but it is for those with no fear of heights.
Enjoy a family outing while you relax and connect with family. Take the house-help along to help monitor your children while you have fun. Ends
