FLOODS in Kasese district have killed one person and displaced about 200 others in Kilembe and Karusandara subcounties.
Bwambale Kadembya is believed to have drowned in the over-flooded River Nyamwamba last Sunday following heavy rains that drenched the Rwenzori mountains at the weekend.
His body was recovered about five miles downstream in Kisagazi, a suburb of Kasese town. The 200 people were displaced when floods from River Mubuku struck Byabubale village in Kibuga parish, Karusandara subcounty.
The Karusandarar subcounty LC3 chairman Robert Byaruhanga said the floods in his area struck a week ago.
