A senior official in the justice and constitutional affairs ministry, Jane Kiggundu, has been named the acting Administrator General (AG) and she is to hold the portfolio indefinitely.

“Kiggundu will sit in for Joseph Ndawula, the substantive Administrator General, who was last week sent on forced leave for alleged office mismanagement,†a source said. Kiggundu is the substantive commissioner legal advisory service in-charge of central government.
“She will hold the portfolio until fresh instructions are issued,†said the source.
Others suspended in the justice ministry were Deus Byamugisha, the acting director, civil litigation, Chebroin Barishaki and Denis Berigye, both commissioners for civil litigation.
Sources said the justice ministry officials together with Lucian Tibaruha, whom President Yoweri Museveni has confirmed as the new Solicitor General, will re-organise the departments, following the abrupt suspensions.
“Since Tibaruha, a highly experienced lawyer has been confirmed as SG, he will now have powers to run the office without any hindrance,†he said. Ends
