THE Uganda Muslim Volunteers Association (UMVA) on Wednesday launched a two-month campaign to collect relief for the internally displaced persons in Teso region.
UMVA chairman Younus Mpagi also asked the Government to hold peace with Joseph Kony.
He said the relief collections were not based on a humanitarian not political or religious basis.

URA officers for defence

Buganda Road Court magistrate Susan Kanyange yesterday asked two Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) officers to defend themselves against charges of causing a sh241m financial loss to the Government.
Kanyange said the evidence adduced by the State against Justus Kalebo and Dorothy Birungi was enough to put them to their defence.

Hearing centre soon

The education ministry is to set up a hearing aid center to treat the hearing-impaired.
Vincent Paul Ojwang, a lecturer at Kayambogo University, recently told a consultative group at the gender ministry that Rotary International would fund the project after the initial assistance from DANIDA.
