KAMPALA Mayor John Ssebaana is to sue those accusing Kampala City Council (KCC) of being corrupt.

Ssebaana said the allegations were undermining development in the city.

He said, “I am not going to tolerate anyone tempering and undermining KCC development programmes. We now want court evidence that we are corrupt.”

Addressing politicians in Kisenyi recently, he said they had established a team of lawyers KCC was to use in suing its accusers. He did not disclose them.

Ssebaana condemned many of the accusers for failing to differentiate and separate development from politics, which has affected KCC development programmes.

He advised people who were not aware of the precautions on how KCC received and used the funds to contact the city authorities for an explanation.

“They should listen from the ‘horse’s mouth’ instead of relying on rumours,” Ssebaana said.

He said the available funds could not meet all the public demands.

Councillor Moses Kataa-bu asked the city authorities to provide more security lights in Kisenyi area to reduce the existing high crime rate.
