Conservative Party (CP) interim president Nsubuga Nsambu and secretary general Ken Lukyamuzi have announced that Mayanja-Nkangi is no longer president-general of the party.

“You are an agent and promoter of the Movement hegemony and President Museveni politically needs you as much as you need him. You are no longer a federalist but a promoter of decentralisation which you have chosen to equate to federalism,” they said in a letter.

The letter was copied to National Political Commissar Dr. Crispus Kiyonga and inter-party forum chief, Sam Njuba.

“You are on record for having initiated and promoted the notorious Political Organisations Bill and responsible for the suspension and suppression of political party activities in perpetuity,” Lukyamuzi said at a press conference yesterday.
