Timothy, hear it from the horse’s mouth, Jesus is real!

SIR — I am writing to respond to Timothy Bukumunhe’s article “Was Jesus for real or mythical”published on Tuesday. It is about 2003 years ago that Jesus Christ was born in Jerusalem.

SIR — I am writing to respond to Timothy Bukumunhe’s article “Was Jesus for real or mythical”published on Tuesday. It is about 2003 years ago that Jesus Christ was born in Jerusalem.

We have many people who have great achievements to their credit in the history of the world and the most significant of them all is Jesus Christ.

Our calender says it all 2003 AD —2003 years after the birth of Christ. The Bible, as you Bukumunhe states is the world’s best seller of all time.

From Genesis to Revelation it is the prophecy about Christ’s birth, childhood, ministry, death, resurrection, ascension and what He is doing at the moment (in heaven) and what he is going to do when He returns. I do not think a book about a mythical person could achieve such a feat year in year out.

There may be differences of opinion regarding Christ’s identity and his mission amongst the many religions of the world but the reality of his existence is shared by most of them.

For example, Islam does not agree with some of the doctrines of Christianity but don’t deny that Jesus existed in reality.

I for one have no doubt about his reality because of what He has miraculously done for me.

I was an alcoholic, promiscuous, violent and a smoker. On March 21, 1993 in my drunken state, Pastor Fred Kimbagaya of Nyanama Full Gospel Church told me about this Jesus.

I did not agree with him immediately but that very night while in my bed I somehow found myself accepting Jesus as my Lord and saviour.

Timothy, Jesus Christ is real.
