AIR Uganda is to increase direct flights from Entebbe to Dar es Salaam to four times a week effective March 3. The days are Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Jennifer Musiime, the head of sales and marketing, told reporters at the airline’s head office in Kampala: “We have seen a steady growth in passengers travelling to and from Entebbe to Dar es Salaam.”

“Because of this and feedback from regular travelers, there was a need to have more direct flights without having the inconvenience of flying through Kilimanjaro as presently happens.”

“We have always mooted the idea of having a direct flight to Dar es Salaam, but back then, the market was not yet ready for it.”

Despite the credit crunch and decline in air passengers globally, the Entebbe-Dar es Salaam route has been growing steadily.
