Diamond Trust Bank is the best bank in customer service according to Kampala traders.

Diamond Trust Bank is the best bank in customer service according to Kampala traders.
It is the second year running that the bank has won the award which is called Ani Mukozi (people’s verdict).
The award is organised by the Kampala City Traders Association.
It recognises institutions that excel in quality service delivery.
Chief executive Varghese Thambi received the award during the function at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala last week.
“We are delighted to receive this prestigious award from the association,†Thambi said.
He added: “We are committed to giving our focused attention to the small and medium enterprises sector which is a key sector in the economic development of the country.â€
The bank has a network of 15 branches, 10 of which are in Kampala.
Last year, the bank’s parent bank in Kenya signed a Ksh2b financing package with the International Finance Corporation to support the group’s expansion plans and enable it increase lending.
Following this, the group is expanding across East Africa.
It plans to open at least 55 branches by the end of this year.
In June 2009, the group commenced operations in Burundi, and is exploring opportunities in other parts of eastern and southern Africa in the next four years.
