DURBAN - The footballing world is already buzzing with excitement in the run-up to 25 November 2007, the day on which Durban will host the draw for the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying ties and groups.

Some of Africa’s finest musical talent will be performing at what promises to be a highly energetic and dynamic Preliminary Draw.

One of Nelson Mandela’s favourite groups, the internationally-renowned Soweto String Quartet and Senegal’s Yousssou N’Dour, will add flavour to the draw.

The draw will be conducted by FIFA General Secretary Jerome Valcke, who will be able to count on such famous names as South African legends Kaizer Motaung, Jomo Sono and Lucas Radebe as well as Ali Daei (Iran), George Weah (Liberia), Abedi Pele Ayew (Ghana), Kasey Keller (USA), and French stars Christian Karembeu and Marcel Desailly as his assistants

Uganda is one of 48 countries that will be drawn in 12 groups of four teams to bid for five African places.
