RALLYING - LEADING female driver Susan Muwonge and former Motorsport Africa Club president Hebert Rutagwera have been appointed assistant treasurer and treasurer respectively of the local Motorsport body, FMU.

RALLYING - LEADING female driver Susan Muwonge and former Motorsport Africa Club president Hebert Rutagwera have been appointed assistant treasurer and treasurer respectively of the local Motorsport body, FMU. The two took up the new positions in the newly elected executive headed by former rally driver ‘Uncle’ George Kagimu. Rutagwera replaces veteran rally driver Omar Mayanja.

Chepkirwok chases millions

ATHLETICS - ABRAHAM Chepkirwok will hope to improve his endurance when he competes for the sh33m top prize in the DN Galan Super Grand Prix in Stockholm, Sweden today.
Chepkirwok will compete for the last time before heading for the World Athletics Championship in Berlin, Germany in two weeks time. He will compete in the 1000m that together with the 100m are the races with the biggest cash prizes on the 17-event programme in Sweden.

African refs at Makerere

SOCCER - THE Uganda Football Referees Association annual seminar is slated for Makerere University’s Africa Hall today. UFRA publicist Davis Katabira said yesterday that the three-day seminar has attracted referees from Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania and Kenya. It is meant for the referees to refresh their knowledge of the rules of football and exchange experiences.
