- We are happy that the Northern by-pass is finally open. As long as it is used regularly, the insecurity that has dogged it for months will stop. However, in just a few days since it was opened, I have realised that vehicles zoom past at supersonic speed. With the sharp bends, accidents are bound to happen and some have already happened. I request the authorities to set up speed limit humps at least every after 3km on the road, especially before crowded areas and sharp corners.
- Salongo Umur Kizito,
Local Leaders can stop waragi scourge
IT is sad that with the deaths from alcohol consumption reported everyday, the drinks are still on the shelves. It seems the authorities are losing the battle against deadly liquor.
However, I am confident if local leaders across the country mobilise, they can get rid of the poisonous liquor. They should use their security committees to monitor all bars within their areas to ascertain if they have the banned substances or not. The problem is that some of the LCs are also known drunkards.
I implore the local leaders to get involved in the fight against alcohol.
