Anglican church names two new bishops named

The Church of Uganda House of Bishops has appointed the Rev. Can. Samuel Kaziimba bishop of Mityana Diocese, while the Rev. canon Patrick Gidudu is for Mbale.

The Church of Uganda House of Bishops has appointed the Rev. Can. Samuel Kaziimba bishop of Mityana Diocese, while the Rev. canon Patrick Gidudu is for Mbale.

Kaziimba has replaced Bishop Dustan Bukenya, who has reached the retirement age of 65, while Gidudu has replaced Samwiri Wabulakha.

Kaziimba, who will be consecrated on October 26, was the Provost of St. Andrew’s Church, Mukono
According to a statement signed by the Rev. Can. Aaron Mwesigye, the provincial secretary, Kaziimba holds a doctorate and a masters degree of the Ministry from Western Theological Seminary, Michigan USA.

He also has a bachelors degree in divinity from the Uganda Christian University in Mukono.

Gidudu, who was the warden of St. Andrew’s Community Centre, will be consecrated on August 17 at St. Andrew’s Cathedral in Mbale.

Gidudu holds an MA. in Sacred Theology from the Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus Ohio, USA.

He also has a post graduate diploma in Education from the Uganda Christian University and a bachelors degree in Theology from Oakhill College, London.
