FARIDAH Nakyoole of Budo Secondary School lost her father a few weeks to the examinations but that did not stop her from topping in Wakiso district.

With 2AAAA, Nakyoole was the fourth-best in Arts and thanked God who enabled her triumph despite the troubles.

Her father, Ssenkumba, was killed at his home in November last year.

“I witnessed the murder of my father. This was too much for me. I did not know that I would succeed. This is a miracle,” she said.

She attributes her success to the teachers and the deputy headmaster, Peter Mwesigwa, who counselled her.

The headmaster, Lawrence Muwonge, described her as hardworking and well-behaved. She won several school bursaries due to her brilliance.

“I expected her to make it. I also thank God for her success.”

Nakyoole hopes to join a top university where she will pursue economics.
