ALL civil servants in Mukono district will be housed in the ground floor of the sh4.2b administration block upon the completion of the first phase of construction, later this month.

Livingstone Zziwa, the district vice-chairman, said the Icelandic International Development Agency funded the sh370m phase.

In an interview recently, Zziwa said Zebra Associates won the tender to construct the ground floor.

He added that work on the block would be done in phases. “We do not have enough funds to do all the work at once. After completing the ground floor, we plan to start working on the first floor.”

Zziwa said that the contracts committee would call for tenders for the construction of the first floor. He warned against for misappropriation of funds, saying: “Anyone involved in misappropriating funds will be sacked immediately.”
