Yoga stuff is an ancient Indian system of philosophy encompassing body, mind and spirit, which involves flexing and stretching the body, as well as controlled breathing and meditation.

Pranayama yoga aims at achieving harmony between body and mind through exercise, breathing and meditation.

The first of its kind in Uganda, the Yoga camp kicked off at Hotel Africana on Saturday, August 11 and will run up to Thursday, August 16. The event attracted hundreds of people from all walks of life, with the Indian community dominating attendance.

And if you wish to be part of it, you will part with $50 for the ordinary pass; $100 for the silver pass; $250 for the Gold pass; or a whopping $500 for the diamond pass.

There are two three-hour sessions each day, one running from 5:30am and another from 5:30pm.

Shukla Mukesh, the chairman of the Yoga Camp organising committee, said Ramdev’s exercises have healing and preventative powers that are beneficial to people suffering from asthma, bronchitis and hepatitis.
